The MCP server needs no install step: bunx @pleaseai/csp mcp fetches the package on first use. Install the CLI when you want csp on your PATH for AGENTS.md instructions, the sub-agent, or scripting.
Install the CLI
macOS and Linux. Ships a standalone binary, so no Node or Bun is required at runtime.
brew install pleaseai/tap/cspDownloads the standalone binary from the GitHub release for your platform, verifies its checksum, and drops it in ~/.local/bin.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pleaseai/code-search/main/scripts/install.sh | bashOverride the destination with CSP_INSTALL_DIR, or pin a release:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pleaseai/code-search/main/scripts/install.sh | bash -s -- --version v0.1.7The npm package ships the same binary behind a small Node launcher, so this path needs Bun or Node 22+ on your PATH.
bun add -g @pleaseai/csp # with bun (recommended)
npm install -g @pleaseai/csp # or with npm
pnpm add -g @pleaseai/csp # or with pnpmCompiles the standalone binary locally. The crate is published as code-search-please (the short name csp was already taken); the installed binary is still csp.
cargo install code-search-pleaseVerify
csp --version
csp search "authentication flow" .If csp is not on $PATH, use bunx @pleaseai/csp in its place (for example bunx @pleaseai/csp search "query" .).
Update
